Bigs Golf Event a BIG Success!

TRAVERSE CITY — Big Brothers Big Sisters Golf Event presented by Bill Marsh and Serra Traverse City proved to be an extraordinary success raising over $80,000 which is a slight decrease from previous years, but a great outcome considering the current circumstances.

“Life is a journey that no one should travel alone. The children in our program and on our waitlist need a Big Brother or Big Sister who will stand in their corner. The funds raised at this event will provide and support the mentors needed to ignite the power and promise of these children,” said Cecilia Chesney, Bigs Executive Director. “We are so grateful to all who made this event a success; our dedicated community business partners, the golfers, volunteers, our Golf Committee led by Bruce Finlayson, a Bigs’ Board Member, and the Auction Committee led by Kerry Finlayson, also a Bigs’ Board Member and a Big Sister,” she said.

The sold-out event featured a traditional Scramble, a competitive Invitational where the winners; Tim Cerny, Eric Stehouwer, Troy Noble and Mark Kaufmann, will enjoy the ultimate prize of an all-expense paid golf experience to play the Straits Course at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin, and an online auction that raised $23,000.
